Education Goes Further than 5K
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the 2011 Walk for Education 5K on Saturday, November 12!
The Walk for Education is a vital initiative to promote educational access in communities across California. Now in its 9th year, the Walk has made a significant impact in the number of scholarships awarded on the grassroots level -- and, in a larger sense, to the lives of all who benefit from the education of our youth. This year, we are pleased to announce that the Walk for Education raised more than $11,000 for California Dollars for Scholars chapters!
While the Walk follows a 5-kilometer course, the impact on students and their families can be felt for much longer. Through its Dollars for Scholars® program, Scholarship America® partners with more than 1,700 communities, corporations, colleges and universities across the country to help students with the desire and drive to continue their education beyond high school.
